Texas
is a state that is full of interesting places to visit and experience -as you
may have noticed when you visited the
Fly Texas,
Come Fly With Me,
and My Texas pages among others; but, once in
a while, we become very curious about "what is outside the boundaries of the Lone
Star state?!" and it is very natural that our gaze and curiosity first venture towards our neighboring states.
Our
state is officially bordered by the following sibling states (East to West
-traveling with the rising sun):
Louisiana (LA), with the state motto of:
Union, justice, confidence
Arkansas (AR), with the state motto of:
Regnat populus (The people rule)
Oklahoma (OK), with the state motto of:
Labor omnia vincit (Labor conquers all things)
New
Mexico (NM), with the state motto of:
Crescit eundo (It grows as it goes)
Then
we have some more very close neighbors, who do not share a border with us, such
as:
Mississippi (MS),
with the state motto of: Virtute et armis (By
valor and arms)
Kansas (KS), with the state motto of: Ad
astra per aspera (To the stars through difficulties)
Colorado (CO), with the state motto of:
Nil sine numine (Nothing without the Deity)
Arizona (AZ), with the state motto of:
Ditat Deus (God enriches)
From Fort Worth (Texas) to the Grand Canyon
(Arizona) and back to Texas,
via Santa Fe (New Mexico), Blanding (Utah), and
Page (Arizona) over Monument Valley
Last
but not least, our state also rests on an international border to the south, and
meet boundaries with an neighboring country:
The
United Mexican States (Mexico), with the
national seal Motto of: Patria, Libertad, Trabajo y Cultura (Country, Liberty,
Work and Culture)
All
these areas present an adventurous aviation enthusiasts with marvelous and
endless experiences and educational possibilities! To learn more about what each

Just incase anyone was wondering about our state's (Texas') motto, well, is it not
obvious? It is simply: Friendship.
